I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

The first thing that strikes me is the pattern of darks.. The darks of the wheel wells and the background pines(?). I like the way they a are connected and the pattern they create. The Rolls now has a friendly spot to roost.. its place in the picture frame feels right. Lots of pines in the NW... one of my favorite trees.
Also nice line work on the body.. don't remember seeing that before on the other works.. real nice touch mr.
Thanks, W.K., I would just like to let'er rip more often.
Ron, You are going bold and aggressive brush-strokes. And it looks like you moved very rapidly. Very nice. Car looks like bad boy frowning for something. It's a another cool piece.
You are right, Kee, I moved as fast as my hand would go and whatever shape happened-well that was it.
Ron, do I detect an actual drawing line as in pen & ink or skinny black brush? Way cool. Way different. A nice change for fun. What size is this Oliver Stacks guy?
I'd drive your Rolls Canardly! A bit different from your usual with the strong outlines and looser style. I like it.
Thanks, Michele, I used a fine pen and just scribbled and the paper was smoother. I enjoy doing this kind of thing-I think I'll do more. Its 7 years old at least. I discovered it at the bottom of a pile and figured it might be worth a look.
Thanks, Michelle, I really would like to paint in a loose fun style-maybe I'll try it a bit.
I think it would be well received.
I will give it a shot.
Just checking back.. make sure no one is stealing parts... Milford be good tonight.........
Stealing parts, WHERE? Let me get my gun...come back here you bastids!
