I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Thank God, now this is real painting.
Hey Ron.. I like it.. now you're speaking to me. Potato print is a real departure.. and damn well engaging. Remeber Dan Quayle? V.P. under Bush the first?.. His legacy is mispelling potato .. thought it had an e. Anyway - didn't mean to digress.. but I hope you go experimental on us more often.. and why not?
Oh my gosh, who dunnit? Love red and blue and potatoes, potatos? I remember dan quail too. Now I can't remember how to spell it. Funny, Im cooking potatoes on rooster today. Potato print on tile, very cool, that's hands on for sure.
I hope nobody was hurt in the making of this picture.
Uh, Mr P., the guy we used made quite an impression, he was a real cut up, the last thing he said was,"Its been a slice!"
Thats me, W.K., an experimentalist!
I'm expanding my repertoire. A new project, painting on tile,... a projectile? Only if I throw it away?
Thanks, Michele- I forgot to say that in the comment above.
Ron, this is simply thrilling!
Cripes, Phoebe, its a potato print.
Brings out the kid in me again. :o)
We get bogged down in little painting details when all we really need is a spud, a splash of paint and - presto - masterpiece.
Thanks, B.J., I painted the tiles in my kitchen six years ago-there are fifty different mini-paintings. I thought it would be fun to show one. Sure enough I've gotten reports that I am wasting time with the old crappy cars and that I should go for the new technique in a big way.
I like your car paintings better, but this is a fun change. Do you finger paint, too?
Hi Michelle, thanks- I just thought it would be fun, this is one of my kitchen tiles. I potatoed them. I would hope that watercolours which took at least two weeks for me to master would be still be my main interest. Wait a minute the public has spoken-potatoed tiles it is, sometimes I despair...especially when I set myself up! Haw Haw. Thanks for liking the cars better- I have gotten a few opinions to the contrary.
I did finger a painter one time...does that count?
STAY AWAY FROM THE POTATOES!
This place certainly has personality. I suspect there may be a few residing in you.
This is fun but I really enjoyed all your recent car paintings as well as the old boat. Thanks for putting up nice large files to study.
You paint faster than I can make my blogging rounds. Maybe you're just more efficient than I am.
