I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Nice feel to this one. Kinda looks like they shook off (like a wet dog) and threw off some of their metal.
I found another watercolor artist blogger recently. She's very good. Here's the link if you would like to check out her stuff.

Thanks, Michele, speaking of wet dogs, the little idiots are loose-camera is ready.
Click away. Will go over to Milford's blog to check 'em out.
I love this new painting. Spring is here and Michelle is right, shake off all the wet stuff and look what the magic drops turn into, magic cars! I heard something about Milford, I'm on the hunt.
Thanks, Michele, a little sunshine would be nice!
For those who have said you don't do wheels/tires, I think I've spotted one in the lower right corner. Proved 'em wrong, eh??
Its okay, B.J., if they're not on a car. Occassionally a wheel sneaks in without me noticing.
Standing together they've formed a barrier to protect the house from intruders. Sorry, I can't help but sense a certain anthropomorphic quality when it comes to these old cars -- this picture in particular. Nice job!
Thanks Tom, anthropomorphism it is-the ascription of human characteristics to inanimate objects. I admit it, guilty as charged- the whole thing is supposed to be fun.
Ron I too noticed right off the arrangement of the cars out front. They radiate out from the house like a star. This one has a still life quality to it for me. The car-eful arrangement of the objects. Colors nicely valued.. and I like the way you laid in the background trees. Nice.......
And the lime green truck.. how could I have left that out..
Thanks, W.K., I guess it is a still life-they ain't goin nowhere! But its an imaginary still life.
Great piece here! I love it all but tonight I'm loving the way you do the supporting characters like the trees and grass. I enlarged this one and studied the tree and grass - wonderful -
Thanks, Cara-its nice when the secondary elements are noticed.
