The Preserve of Captain Flood

"Captain Flood", sounds like a pirate, but no, he was a fisherman of indeterminate origin with a proclivity for gambling away the profits. A poker player before all the fuss. A shack on the beach, where women with dubious reputations and colourful dresses visited and occasionally sat out on the porch, was the off season domain of the Cap'n. We watched from down the beach, much entertained by the scandalous proceedings. The abandoned site brings back memories of how the beach was before the days of high taxes and big houses. Bink to BLOW!

Beautiful job Ron. Some of the boats appear to be moving, though without their running lights.
Great yarn too...

That was me deleting; I hate posting stuff that is inarticulate. Anyway, I'm visiting more that I comment but always enjoy looking at the paintings...just letting you know that. Nice new piece, hope alls well.

Love this Ron. Wonderful color and light and shadow. I always look forward to the story that goes along with the painting. By the looks of the place I'm assuming he was a better fisherman/sailor than he was a gambler...

Thanks, Pamela, its just what came out when there was no drawing...I probably should draw because I like the paintings that are done with some guidance better.
