I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

I see a beauty in combination of the light and colours for this painting!!!Also I love your idea that you used the warm colour on the wing of car at the right foreground...Great!!!

Wonderful rich colors!!! I love that touch of cerulian among the darker colors.
Glad i stopped by! I too love the blue sky and the warm fender color surrounded by the cooler darks.

Hi Ron; Do you frame your own paintings? Have you ever varnished them so they can be framed without glass? I am struggling just now with framing costs etc. and even considering acrylics. Thanks Ron. sure enjoy your blog. Will have to come by more often i think.

Thanks, Ross, I have a friend who has a framing shop and I can get my paintings framed but I am about a hundred behind...I don't use varnish as they can't be entered in shows if they are varnished.

Thanks Ron for your reply re: framing. A hundred is quite a good lot. I am two behind i think. Smile! But i may be giving framing a try. It might be a good sideline perhaps. I also like what you did with this painting. You have a great way with the old cars. The way you capture the rust and the age is downright amazing!
I think that framing is always a problem and that if you can get equipment and do it yourself its a good idea.
Hey Ron, I've dropped in here the odd time and mean to give a shout sometime, but have been stupidly busy. Haven't commented as I don't know what to say. Your work is always worth the visit. Had to repost this due to spelling errors that made me look like an oaf.
