I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Junked cars always make me catch my breath ~ water colored ones make my heart stop. Beautiful!
Ron, that is a very good, almost backlit effect you have in your most recent painting.
Love the hazy feel to this. Its gorgeous xx
Nice to see you back!Lovely work, Ron.
Thank you for sharing this with us Ron. I just love this painting, your style is so very different from anything else I've seen before and I can so easily lose myself in your work!
The way you have used the combination of harsh dry-brush work in the foreground to counter the soft wet-in-wet background is amazing and your creative use of light, tone and colour just blows me away!
Have you ever though of doing a YouTube video of yourself painting one of these? It would be really interesting to see how you do this!
Thanks, SZQ, I have always thought junked cars were magical watercolour subjects...
Thanks, Kathryn, softer, lighter?
