Building a Painting

This is what I like to do-create a scene that doesn't exist. Work the picture from a series of sketches into the big scene. I have no idea how it will end up. It just evolves . The big painting is 16 inches by 40 inches.

What the hell is the point of painting a bunch of old cars?

Aside from the insulting tone of your question, it is nevertheless valid.I paint them because I like to.

Like to what? Dangle participles?

Lookit, you- I up my meds and you're gone. But I will indulge you in the hope of temporarily quieting your annoying voice. I thought it would be fun to try and convey my sense of wonder when I found old cars out in the country. At first I was looking for something to restore(1976). I took photos, but when I looked at them I realized I wanted to paint the scenes.I had some watercolours from high school so I used them. I could always draw, but I had to learn how to paint with W/C. Since I enjoyed the idea of car painting so much I had to learn how. I wanted to do it in my own unique way- I've never had a lesson. Now the painting is the thing and I have convenient subject matter.
