I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Man where you find all these old treasures? There are really that many? Antique car people from the States need to chech out Canada ... if they're welcome ;-)
I make them up sometimes-just draw the car and rustify it. Faux-patina. Canadians like Americans generally-they (we) don't care much for American government. There are a lot of Americans up here. The antique guys come up all the time. I was toolin up the road on my Harley one afternoon when a whole fleet of Packards came by. I pulled over and watched them go by. The just about fell out of their rigs wavin'and checkin out the bike. Anyways my sister's married to an American. Her kids, my nieces and nephews are Americans, ergo I have American relatives.
Only in an artist's vivid immagination are we going to see '34 Fords settling into rust. One of the reason they are so collectible now is that in years past, they were the stockcar body of choice & many were hacked and crunched to pieces...we did the same with a few '55 Chevy's. As usual, a very nice watercolor.
