I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Nice to see the heavy iron again.. however you did make a nice detour for us all to enjoy. Good construction on the background house. Really solid and inviting. Hope there are no street vikings wandering about these parts.
Thanks, W.K.,They'd have to wander a long way.
Hey Ron, These cars seem a little less weathered than usual. It's nice. The dark blue one is pretty shiny. Very vibrant colors.
Michelle, I owed my buddy the picture framer some dough so I painted his Plymouth with a house from Cumberland (where Clive lives)and added a coupla cars from another commission. The Plymouth is a runner. The others (if you click on the picture to enlarge it) are pretty beat-but I agree they are upscale wrecks.
Upscale wrecks and the house is looking pretty spiffy too. Like we could all move on in. This is definitely a custom painting with romance and little grunge. But a nice switch of gears altogether. Thought of you last night watching an old video of "Tucker" with Jeff and his dad Lloyd Bridges who played the nasty senator. Ever paint a Tucker car? They look like your cars.
Thanks, Michele, I'm all Tuckered out. Hee,- I think they only made 50 Tuckers, but they are definitely my type of car .
Ron, I see you in your very own Smart car. You'd even have room for several extra sheets of paper and brushes.
Clive, Earl of Cumberland, whatever do you mean? I've always wanted a hybrid.
Ron, nice vibrant colors. Orange car makes either flanking cars vibe.
Guest rooms in that house?
Thanks, Kee, the house is up by Clive's in Cumberland. Cumberland is an historic mining village. Clive is a superb watercolourist.
