Me at my show-about to doze off.

Looks like a great space.. you are lucky to have that. Also from what I see the frames are great quality and placed well on the wall. May many people with money come by and really show their appreciation!

Actually considering they are my paintings, the show looks pretty good. In the interest of honesty-if I could have a show of the better paintings that have sold it would be a far different show. These paintings are basically "my collection". I take them off my walls for a show like this. The sketches I post on the daily painters are older reference material (not all) some of which I have, some are gone. The little ones aren't worth selling-I'd rather keep them. I make prints out of the big paintings and the smaller ones. Both Clive and I have enjoyed periods of success, but for whatever reason sales have been slow for the last year. I sell my big paintings through group shows and out of my house gallery. The blog does not show the big paintings to good effect. There is a trend away from glass covered w/c's in Canadian galleries. I want to do smaller paintings as a way of trying new things and creating a new revenue source through the dp's etc. The mechanics will evolve as I get organized. I think I will do fewer gallery shows as they generally are a pain. I say all this because my big paintings are the sellers and on the blog the little ones get what little attention comes my way. I thought this may be interesting because sometimes I'm tempted to say something but I don't. See Clive's comment on the other show picture.

Thx for the back story. Being an artist is a 24hr challenge (bitch?). When the sunshine of success is on your back and the refreshing breeze of compliments are coming in... Hey wait that's someone else's story... If your situation is similar to mine then we just plug away and paint because that's what we do.. no matter what. I'll check the Clive post...
