I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Back in action with the heavy iron I see. Effective use of car placement to lead the eye to the house. Do you know Coombs? That's his house? If it is he sure has a great sculpture collection in the front yard. I like the colors and drawing on this one.. a real Bill pleaser!
Thanks, W.K., Coombs is a place-remember I make these things up.
Whatever you are doing, do it again. It's almost like you're coming up over the top of a hill to see this scene and the house is tilting downhill away from you. The truck on the right almost looks like it's towing the house away to keep it from falling over. And the sky is so active with threatening clouds. Just super. Have you seen the film "The Shipping News"? about 8 yrs ago? Remember the house on the hill tied down with ropes so it wouldn't blow away? Cool flick. Reminds me of your house. I also like the way there is no space between the cars and the house therefore the house has no sacred space. Surrealistic.
Thanks, Michele, Its fun you see so much!
Hi Ron, this beautiful cadillacs and other vehicles you represent are a piece of american history but also a symbol of 50-60's design.
I'm fashinated when i see in Italy one of this car in use (here is a rare event)!
The sensation you transmit by your watercolors is that you want to give dignity and life to these forgotten "material elements" and to revalue the design of the past with the eyes of the present, evidencing the reviving from an abandonment situation by using lively colors.
Sad but optimistic at the same time!
Paolo, you are a fine commenter! Thanks for the visit.
That is a classic, "evidencing the reviving from an abandonment situation by using lively colors." From now on this is my motto.
Nice comment by Paolo....I can't add anything after that.
So here is Ron... Beautiful clouds.
Thanks,Kee. Kee meet Paolo.
I was hoping somebody would say something about the clouds.
The clouds, just like the rest of the painting are masterful!!
Great house...the rendering of the house that is.
Thanks, Louis.
