I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Hi Ron... Like the loose style on this... a symphony of greens going on. How's you numbers doing? I earned yellow yesterday... ha -with so few people... oh the irony..
This reminds me of alot of scenes right around here Ron. I like boat paintings and this is a good one. I like the loose style too. And as always great color! Going to check your other site.
Thanks, Robin, I'm going to do more boats and seagulls.
Thanks, W.K.-the numbers oh the numbers what blights these digits be when not the colour of the sea.
Hey Ron. I like this one. Looks like a good place to go hang out if you want to be alone.
Thanks, Michele, enjoyed our conversation.
Ron,
Now I know how things works in Blog community. Your comment was funny. I did see your work before and I do like them very much.
Especially "Pile-Up Revisited Again", "The Gathering" and
"Junkyard No1." The mood in that Gathering piece is great! Feels like those trucks going to tell you some of their life story.
Do you think this is enough buttering?
I'm joking.
Love this new theme Ron, if it is new. My sense of it is you could make anything work. I like 'em quick and loose like this. I think all your paintings should contain ladders. They add a terrific and mysterious element to the composition.
Michele, do you think the ladder thing will give me a "step up" in the art world?
That is perfect, Kee, you'll make a fine commenter! Of course, I'm tickled fuscia that you stopped by.
Michele, how about a "leg up" in the art world?
Sorry, Michelle Smith.
Another nice boat there, Ron, I like the loose fresh handling on it. You're really keeping it coming and it's nice to see the odd figure in there too. How are things in Cu-cumberland you asked? The Taiwanese lantern festival is on but apparently you need acid or mushrooms to really get the proper effect...think I'll skip it this year, but we will mosey by the Waverly Hotel for a beer and watch then send off the flying lanterns if the rain stops. Drop by if you are up this way; just before 7:00. Speaking of Cumberland, did you see the recent quote in the paper from The Holy Trilogy about their development here being like a 747 lined up on a runway with it's motor's at full throttle? This after all that initial patter about listening to the land and to the people of the village! No wonder they couldn't hear the supporters of the OCP. If I'm not careful I will become cynical.
I just cringe when I hear their plans, Clive. Its also the same for Union Bay with Raven. And the third phase of Crown Isle. Thanks for stopping by - phone when your not too busy.
Michelle, if you stop by, go see Clive. As you can tell by the above we are friends. He is truly a fine watercolourist. He's not posting because he is doing contract computer animation or backgrounds or something related. We have shows together sometimes.
Hello again, Ron. I also enjoyed our conversation. Thanks for sending me to Clive's blog. I had a good look around. Nice landscapes he does. It is good to see other watercolor artists blogging. Through his site I found two more. Fun fun!
To me, Michelle, the wonder of the thing (w.c.) is that it can be done so many different ways.
