I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Now this is a little gem. the painting and the bird. I tryed to paint a humming bird once with nowhere near the success you've had here. Nice one Ron!
Thanks, Robin-I had to paint fast though, he was really moving.
Ever hear Leon Russell sing humming bird? One of my favs - one of my standbys. Good work on this one .. captures the motion - colors good as usual...
Nice color.
You must have eye and hand of Steve Austin?
W.K., I've heard them all just don't remember much any more. I did a coupla these hummings for presents and kept one for the kitchen-I was just curious what the response would be on the DPs.
Kee, I know a loon who gives wawacolour demos for the blue hairs. He sits on his folding chair and paints two duck feet in the upper right hand corner of his sheet of paper. Then he looks up mildly disappointed and says, "You gotta be quick if you're gonna paint ducks!" What an idiot.
This is very nice, Ron. Very vibrant.
Thanks, Michelle, next labrador puppies then cows and kittens. No, really.
Don't forget the chicks... maybe some coyotes...
Ron,
That's hilarious.
I'll be awaiting the lab and cow paintings with anxious anticipation. (I'm not a cat person. They think our yard is their personal cat box.)
I painted the wiener dog for my oldest daughter's Christmas present. Nobody thought it was funny and it took hours to get the orange paint off... just kidding I did a painting of the mini-weeny for DD1 (Darling Daughter no.1).
Cool hummer. I feed them all the time and love the way they dash and stop, feed and hover, dash and flip off. Loon giving demos for the grey hairs, crack me up. Can I always come here for a laugh? hope so.
You have to have a sense of humour in the art biz.
