Leaning House

This bit of silliness is a house, a Hallmark Abandoned house, don't say anything serious about it. I painted it when I was younger than I am now. Don't bother blowing it up unless you can.

I'll say something serious about it if I damn well please! Crap, that didn't sound serious.
I do like it, still, it looks like ricketty fun to run through.

Like this painting a lot. Lovely colours, and the view through the porch on the right adds a great sense of depth to the picture.

now that's a porch ;)
I like the wood siding. How it changes.

Thanks Grimm, I think I will use it in a big painting at some point, its begging for a larger role.

Thanks Liza, I'm glad you dropped by.

Thanks N.N., porches make a house don't they?

This could very well be any old early 20's or 30's abandoned house here in the South. The old wood siding has such character - painted by such a character.

Thanks B.J., I painted it a long time ago but I keep thinking it should have some company on a larger stage.

Quite a handyman's special! Great colors on this too. I love old places that have character!

Thanks Joan, I took the photo from which this was painted about thirty years ago-I'm going to have to paint it again.

Nice painting. How many teeth does the occupant have left? Does he/she carry around a shotgun and own a bloodhound?

Ron Morrison said...

Thanks Michelle. Three, yes and yes. Actually it was in Duhkobor country and there would be more setting things on fire.

Ron - I love this and you know what I like the best..that someone actually made an attempt to cover the attice window on the right but it's pulling away. That and the clear shot through the window on the left. Very involving for me as a viewer...

Thanks Cara, its a big winner on the Dps- I despair.

good form variation ron with subtle value shifts. really a portrait of a house.. an old house with rooms of character.

Thanks W.K., I think I'll use it later.
