I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

alright! who got shot? i don't think it was scarface.. most likely bonnie and clyde. or maybe just clyde after bonnie caught up with him. either way.. excellent piece mr. red is always an attention getter for me. glad to be the first to say so!
Is that Muni or Pacino?
I like the rust, also the popped hood does something for me, I don't know why. Maybe because it reminds me of a jaw hanging open, only reverse...
Thanks W.K., glad you were the first to say so.
Thanks Grimm, I should do more sketches of these cars with doors open and things falling off. Trouble is that most of my naturally busted up cars are not popular models. So I've taken to rustifying things I get out of magazines and they look sometimes like they just started deteriorating without having been driven and discarded.
Even though I'm not the first, :p the red and proped hood are my favorite parts...It looks like the actual car got in a fist fight.
Thanks, N.N., it does.
Pictorially revived. What a sweet description for a very sweet car. This one feels dear to me for some reason. Maybe it's all those soft curves. Just another wonderful painting!
Thanks, Michele, I'm trying to organize my thoughts and plans for this painting thing.
Looks like someone may have been working on the carburetor, went to the garage to get a wrench, and forgot where he was parked. And then the wheels fell off. Making up stories again, I am.
Thanks, B.J. probably something pretty close.
Ron, I'm back and I survived the weekend. How great to come back to this painting. You know how Ilove green.
Thanks Cara, there's a Canadian comedian called Red Green could I be Rusty Green?
Always joking....
Zat bad?
I love Red Green! We saw him several years ago on TV. Funny as heck! Loved the lodge setting. Excellent humor.
And I like your red greens as well.
Thanks B.J., I read the bits about the gallery scammer, thanks for sending it.
