This thirty eight chev was found and re-employed in my personal picture business. I said "Old Timer, You'll be big in my pictures." Bink and all will be revealed.

I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Ron - I like them all! But I guess that doesn't count as a vote - I love the forground/background in the bottom picture. Love the use of color in the middle one but I think my all time fav is the top picture. I love the highlights - no one does that quite like you.
Thanks Cara, Its fun to see what people prefer. I have no idea when I paint them what will get a good response-quite often when I post something that I have pretty well "pitched out" it is well received.
If I were given the job of naming these, the bottom one would be " '38 Chevy By Moonlight", the middle one " '38 Chevy/Psychedelic Fire", and the top one ... well... " '38 Chevy Out to Pasture". I choose the top one. It looks warm, friendly, and dependable.
Hi Ron, Nice to have you back. they are all fantastic. Love the use of color wash.
i like the top one the best. Looks like it's wearing hand-me-downs :p
Thanks Liz, I enjoy having them described.
Thanks Madison, the wet in wet is fun to do.
Thanks N.N., so you like it hands down?
I like the realism of the top one, but I love the "bottom of the ocean for 20 years" look of the bottom one.
No, maybe not ocean, more like "bottom of the river". It looks like light is being cast down to reveal a watery tomb.
Thanks Grimm, you describe my paintings far better than I ever could.
Middle one.. I like the expression of fiery red strokes in the trees. Real impact this one has - brushwork reads very nicely.
Thanks W.K., I wish I could paint like that more often, unleashed..
The middle one is so unlike your style. They're all nice. Top is my fav, though.
Thanks Michelle, its interesting to see what everybody likes. Sometimes I actually look at my paintings after everybody has commented and see the things that have been pointed out. I think this is actually good for me.
