I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Although it appears there are no eyes on this bugger, it looks like the light coming in from the upper left give him (her?) a contemplative glow.
At first glance, this guy looked a bit scary, but now that I see that "heavenly" touch he's receiving from above, it's quite uplifting!

Liz,I tried to be a little "grittier".
I like the colors kind of patching the whole car together. The missing headlights are nice. Plus, I just like the style of this car.
You staged this one well.. lighting is very dramatic and I'm wondering if you sprayed off the paint and mopped with a paper towel.. or are those the magician's secrets? Grass is rendered realistically and the car has been given special care with the color and drawing. I believe this is a first viewing.
The light makes it look like he's center stage, which he is. I like this a lot.

Thanks W.K., it is new. After I painted the background, for the fun of it I blotted with a roll of toilet paper- fold the small roll in half and lift with the edge. Of course it bled back in but I figured the ragged edge was fun so I left it.

Early model Dodges were often overlooked for the Chevys and Fords. But they have a beauty all their own. Very nicely done.
