I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

nothing beats an old truck. Love the meltiness of this one. Everything sort of melts together but stays separate. Like the truck doesn't melt into the background, well either you know what I mean or you don't. (your windows are always perfect)
Thanks N.N., this melty melty thing is all the rage in painting these days...soft edges, lost edges, Sargent or somebody said that hard edges are the result of lazy painting.
Cool Ron. I used to have a truck like this in AZ. Red though and probably slightly better shape. I even think the vacuum wipers worked once. Nice greens!

(...) in a single car, in the first page, there are several colors, like green, blue, pink, yellow, red, orange; in another one, the light turns everything into black and white, with a red background. I think the pictures where we see some old and lonely cars are very sad. It's all like some drawing of nostalgia. And just like nostalgia, it puts beauties where they weren't.
