These are very nice, Ron. So moody. Nice color and contrast, too.

Both of these are great, but I like that darker, stormy sky with all the movement in it. Nice job!!

Thanks Michelle, I've always liked the bright, breezy, watercolours of the Californians of the mid -twentieth century. They probably weren't native Californians and some lived elsewhere but thats how I think of them. Its my idea of things

Thanks Joan, I think it will evolve in the darker direction...

Way to go Ron. I like the foreground grass best in the 1st version, but overall the darker one seems to have more punch. Will be watching for the next one, which will probably happen quickly.

I really like the first one. It's all stormy and dark, but the boat doesn't care, because it's already beached.

Like 'em both Ron. The top one looks like it's headed for the perfect storm. Great palette of colors and the boat drawing rocks. Glad to see you putting up some new aquatic greats.

Thanks W.K. I always admired the "breezy, colourful, caligraphic, rich, textured" stuff of the mid century Americans. I know its not great art but I love it.

Ron - The second draft really reaches out and connects. I love it.

Thanks Cara, that can be dangerous when paintings grab you...

I like both of them. I could stare at the second one longer though!

Thanks N.N., I'm still working on the idea.

In your second draft, I really like the way the sky and trees in the background seem to be mimicking a huge wave. Plus, all those spiky edges give it even more of a feeling of danger. Very cool!

Thanks Liz, loosening up, loosening up...
