I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. Your backgrounds are wonderfully dark and colorful...makes the subject stand out beautifully. I like all the little touches too...the rusty chain and the little flag. Are they really there or is your imagination so full of pictures you don't even need a model anymore?! I envy that...
Thanks Tracy, actually I think that I can conjure these things out of thin air, I'm a "thin air" painter. The "Shingle Shack" does not contain a grain of truth, nor does the "Queen Anne Shanty". This boat actually does exist.

Blue cloth really helps to define the round shape of the hull.. the verticals of the cloth and ladders works nicely with the horizontal. Good work Ron.
Thanks W.K., there are tarps everywhere in this part of the world, I lose patience with the folds.
