Spent on the Shore of Malcom Island

This hardworking boat has finished working and will return to the sea flake by flake. They are everywhere here and yet they disappear as the industry vapourizes. Bink for a closer look at the inner workings.

I like the drybrush effect on the roof...very texturey. We like your boats almost as much as your cars...('we' being my son and I...he thinks your cars are cool).
I miss seagulls...

Thanks Tracy, three very common things which I find interesting.

I think this is my favorite of your boat paintings. Composition is strong, drawing tight, colors clean. That's a solid foundation for an excellent painting.

This one is nice, too. I particularly like the sunny, yet hazy atmosphere in the background.

Thanks W.K. just practicing.

Thanks Michelle, more n'likely faulty camera work.

I like it, the way it's propped up on the shore.

and I do see a seagull. On top of the last fence post.

Thanks N.N., there are a few boats beached around here. I think what Tracy was saying was that she used to live around here and she misses the seagulls. There are two 1/2 in the painting.

Thanks D.D., how did you find me?

Ah, the stories this one could tell... Great job on that textured wood of the boat, and wonderful background.

ahem, ummm..... I knew that. heh.

Well, I still saw it there, and the other one's on the corner of the roof. Alrighty, I'll be quiet now.

You're not anywhere near as much fun when you are quiet.

I love how you used shadow and light to bring out the mood and atmosphere in the picture.
