Rustic Fiction

You haven't seen this version before. Its just fun for me to bash off a copy when I want to paint but don't want to fiddle with a new compo. I can just paint, knowing where I'm going. This w/c is four feet wide. I lied, I put this up in January.

Tile #2 Blue Hoo

It has been suggested that potatoes may be my medium, I say no my medium is an unreliable bearded degenerate who tortures me with cryptic messages and voices from the......never mind.

Sointula Fishboat

This sketch is a fun piece- a quick loose doodle. I did it years ago, I should paint more like this now. But styles come and go as do palettes, techniques etc. Sometimes you can't recapture what you once did so easily. Other times its better that you moved on.

The Stand Off

Sick of cars, well this is a potato print on tile using acrylics.

Beautiful Pile of Junk

This rustic relic is a good example of pastoral pulchritude, or maybe not, depending on your perspective. It could be junk cluttering up the countryside. Bink to blast, actually appreciate the brilliant nuances of this masterpiece or at least see it. Thank you for your co-operation.

I liked the shapes and colours of this one-old trucks are fun to paint. I spent my childhood riding shotgun in trucks like this.

Red Chev Wrecked at Clinton

I used to visit a wrecking yard up in the interior back in the seventies. A few years ago I went to work on a bridge near the yard. We had Sundays off, so I went to find the yard, just assuming it would still be there. I drove to where I remembered it being. I was confused, I was in the middle of a trailer park. I did find the original house where the junkyard owner still lived and he had a few cars left. This was one of them.

Fun With Rusty Wrecks And Derelict Houses

This is my 100th post on the DPs. I like this painting so thats what you get. Its painted on the back of another painting with opaque w/c-so everything was agin me from the start. I enjoyed the challenge of using materials that were less than Grade A. I have also enjoyed the comments and my new cyber- friends. I have not had a serious offer for a painting yet (from the DPs). Good thing I have actually sold paintings in real life for substantial prices or I would be quite discouraged. I wish more people would comment all over the blogosphere cuz if you ain't going to sell you may as well chat. Thanks Everybody! Beware "I.E.D." Coupe de Jour

Okay, here's the deal-I just like to play with the shapes and colours and intensities (values). When the shapes become semi-abstractions the fun begins! This car is the same as the one two posts ago. I am bored to tears painting landscapes or portraits as everybody else would be bored painting "old stuff". But there are a number of people who paint this subject matter-so I am not the only silly person. Oh wait a minute I forgot to mention Michele's article see below for link. Break down in this rig and you'd end up walking her home. This is another rare model-amazingly one remains, amazing because there were none in the first place. Come on people stay awake, has everybody read the article yet?
