I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

I've been gone all weekend and I see the cars have been piling up so to speak.
Good job on the last few posts Ron! Love the light, color and close crops.
Thanks, Robin.
Nice straight forward portrait of the car. Good subdued orange color.
Wonderful sienna tones and impeccable drawing.
Thanks, Kee,I think sometimes just the car is enough.
Thank you Jennifer.
Always thought it was "Heavens to Merkatroid!" There's that open door again.. compositional device to make my eye work. I really like the car drawing.. the construction (drawing not car) is strong.. solid. Warms are groovy too. zonk!
Thanks, W.K., I was wondering if anybody would recognize Snagglepuss in this- "Heavens to Merkatroid exit stage left even." I did "Exit Stage Left" earlier.
Are your cars getting older or are you? ha ha-- sorry. I like this one too. Open doors are a gotta have for any spirit with half a sense about him. A must for a good painting.
Thanks, Michele, we have an "open door" policy here at Watercolour Productions. As the soul proprietor, I try capture the spirit of these wrecks.
Hi Ron,
Just popping in to say I think you are not only talented but also very funny. I read the 'rules' on Kee's page.....even if we think it's crap, we say nice stuff and vice versa. ha! Fortunately, we don't have to make stuff up.....your junkyard relics are very well rendered......nostalgic even and I always enjoy looking at them.
You water color guys amaze me with your skills.
Thanks, Kay-we need a little comedy mixed in with all the baloney. Shall we say "a little lightener"? A little art education would go a long way, also. I especially like the way everybody shows up with a comment right after they post a painting themselves. Its quite amusing.
Kay, if Kee publishes my comment today it should be fun. He will.
Nice one, Ron. Sorry, lame comment, but you know I come to look and enjoy anyway.
Say "Hello", thats enough. All pooped out from skiing? I'll do the rest for you.
Ron, you are a watercolour geenyus. Every stroke is a nuanced masterwork in itself!
Why thanks, Clive, decent of you to say so- I cuddna said it better myself.
