I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

This is fantastic! So full of color but more than that...it's balanced color (if that makes sense)
Thanks, Cara. I'm posting things that the newer commenters may not have seen.
Good to see these again, it will be great to have them front and centre for anyone checking your blog from the show.
This one is fun amigo! Want to wish you best of luck on the outdoor show. Persistence!
These are all good ones Ron. Good luck for the weekend, the forecast keeps changing but it's looking better. Hope you sell a bunch.
Another great one. How did the cars get stacked up like that? Looks like they're all being pulled into a vortex which is the shack.
Thanks, Clive. Yes it will be a help.
Thanks, W.K., Persistence and persevrence made a bishop of his revrence. Somebody told me that one time.
Thanks, Dorothy. Stewart Marshall, the painter paddler guy who's book I have, will be there.
Thanks, Michelle. In real life there were two cars stacked one on top of the other. And from there I added more cars and created the scene.
Like this one, Ron. And I especially like the rust on the forward car!
Thanks, Holly.
Is Marshall showing his work? Don't think I'll be there, the feet aren't great yet.
Apparently he's a featured artist.
Take note if he's close to the front and I might stop by.
the rust is nice. This one makes me think of old sleeping dogs ;p (seriously though it does)
Wow, I'm having a hard time keeping up here! Let's see, third one down has a great Rockwellian feel to it for me (don't know you'r opinion on Rockwell but it's meant as a compliment). Second one down, highlights from the sunlight actually look realistic and very cool. Also love the angle of the car.
On the top one here, my eye immediately jumped to the barn. Funny how the cars are stacked but holding up under pressure despite their age, but the barn is having trouble holding itself up. We've still got quite a few leaning and slowly falling barns aound here.
I just wanted to say that I love your cars - the colours and compositions just look very aestetically pleasing to me.
Thanks, N.N., I was worried no one would catch the sleeping dog thing.
Thanks Grimm, remember I make these things up so goofiness is bound to occur.
Thanks, Trine.
Love this greeen, greeeeeen
Hi, Michele, I'm feeling a little green around the grills.
Beautiful watercolors!! I love all of these old cars and the colors and textures on these last couple of paintings are really great.
Thanks, Jared.
Your work is just out of site!!!!

Thanks, K.M.M.
I just read your comments in the comments. Your recomposing is thoroughly convincing. You have a natural sense of placement.
The colors here remind me of the Painted Ladies in San Francisco. For someone who might not know, these are Victorian homes that have been painted in a colorful way, not actual ladies.
Thanks, Tom. For me the fun is in the evolving composition and the myriad possibilities for colours and textures.
