I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

Interesting blog you have here, Ron! And fun paintings. I like old cars too.
so much fun! :D
Thanks, Diana. Send pics.
Thats the idea, N.N.
I adore these old ones.
Thanks, Michele, on these blogs there is the danger of "four months on the DPs" represents all we've ever done.
Really cool. You even painted a car's reflection in a rear view mirror. Clever.
Thanks, Michelle, yes I did. The shapes of the cars became sort of amorphic in this one.
this is great....you could ALMOST do a "where's Ron"...(after where's Waldo)..and hide a piece of yourself in here...I like looking through all of them, and then going back and noticing another great detail. The collage is good for you (oh..use decoupage next time..it doesn't stick to your fingers!)
Thanks, Holly, I did it on Arches 300lb which has very different absorbency than 140lb and consequently dries much differently. I hadn't looked at this painting for a while and I don't use 300 anymore.
Great lead-in with the sun glow at the bottom of the frame. Work your way up from car to car all the way to the top. You handeled the colors just right to create depth and interest. Top shelf (drawer).
Thanks W.K.
I think that you paint faster than I can write. As I'm writing this you're likely making a few new masterpieces.
I love this new pile up. Rather than to repeat what's already been said, I'd like to compliment you on your textures. You've created a whole new rust and age patina all of your own. Bravo!
I found your picture blog and I'll send you some pictures too. One day I'll make a picture blog of my own.
By the way, Mr. Make-Everything-Up-Kidd went out plein airing this weekend. Nature handed me my ass but I still had a good time.
Thanks, Tom, I've only PAed once a long time ago with the W/Cs, it was cold, nothing dried, I made a mess. But I did lots of outside work as a kid with pastels and charcoal.
Ron - This is great. I tried to count all the different vehicles but gave up. Everytime I thought I had it I would spot one peeking out and had to start over. Couldn't ever get the same count twice in a row...
Thanks, Cara.
Thank you, Alina.
can't keep my eyes off of you. Sounds like a song.
Michele, check out the Vintage Photo blog people are sending all sorts of cool stuff.
