I started painting with watercolours in 1976 with a set of pans that I had left over from high school. I've always loved the shapes and colours of old vehicles as they settle in for the long rust. I especially enjoy creating scenes using characters I have collected over the years. These paintings are from my imagination. Check out the sales blog under "Links and Friends".

have to say...your nautical ones are my favorite ones to sea....(ok..cut me some slack, I'm a chemist..not a punster!) I am not worthy....
I had a n'ocean that the cars were not your cup of tea.
yes...I see you can sea right thru me!
omg...punsters.*eyeroll* well, i love your cars the best but this boat is the most beautiful rust bucket(tub?)i've seen. ever consider doing a WIP on your blog? or have you already?(i better look around)
A boat on the hillside. Must have been quite a tide to put him up that high. Excellent rust work.
Thanks Billie, I haven't done a wip here, I did one for a little English site.
Thanks Michelle, A high tide floats all boats or something...
A "rising" tide...
Wow, you really nailed the grime & rust on this one!
Thanks Grimm, it not pretty is it?
Pretty gritty stuff...love the splatters of color.
(Couldn't think of a good pun...I'll get back to ya when the brain is working ;)
I can handle all the pun ishment, bring it on!
It's early in the morning and I'm feeling pretty deadpun so I can't keep up with the banter. It's a particularly lovely piece, Ron, more evidence good watercolour doesn't have to be a pretty sight.
That is, it can be gritty, not pretty.
Or pretty gritty.
cool, really like this one. The darkness of it makes me feel like telling ghost stories.
Thanks Clive, gritty ain't pretty unless it is.
Thanks N.N....Booo!
Thanks for visiting, Joseph.
Great colors in this poor baby! She needs a little TLC!
Thanks, Joan, on her way back to ground.
The rust is REALLY Great in this one!!!
Thanks Madison, I did go crazy with the rust didn't I?
