Homesteading, logging, working in the mill, hauling shingles, growing your own grub, hunting and fishing, and then the kids head for the big city as soon as they are old enough. Maybe built a new house on the other side of the property? Bink to blow...up!

again...i like the addition of the old trailer. man, i sure wish they made cars like they used to...only with airbags, of course. lol

Thanks Joan, I think thats the thing that I sorta developed unconsciously or whatever, along the way - the scene creation, actually I did it almost right from the start.
You know what I like about your paintings? Besides the fantastic color, and cool cars...it's the wonderful tension between the very stationary vehicles and shacks, afloat amid your grasses that are so dynamic and full of movement. I always think of your grasses as waves...so yeah...that's what it is. Whew...another cosmic mystery solved!
Thanks Tracy, thats what I am aiming for...I think that tension from the floating in the grass thing is the fun of it. I had to have something to make them not just car paintings....because they are not car paintings, they are paintings with cars in them. I paint them for those who get it, not for car lovers or whatever. If car guys dig'em I'm happy but its about painting and telling the story.
Your paintings always evoke a story when I view them Ron. I must say they also bring feelings to the surface. This one gives me a strong feeling of nostalgia and isolation, though not in a bad way!

Is that a door on the second floor? I love when houses do that, we had one down the street from us and I always imagined how they used it :p
